Sensational Arrest in Belfast
A Lynx-Eyed Detective
Shortly after five o'clock this evening Detective-Constable Harkins arrested a man giving the name of Herbert Morris, residing at 38 Great Victoria Street, Belfast, on suspicion of being Ernest Jowett, who is wanted by the English police on the charge of embezzling the sum of £1,200. Jowett was a clerk in one of the banks in Halifax, Yorkshire, and a short time since disappeared, carrying with him, it is alleged, the sum stated. Harkins was induced to make the arrest owing to a description which appeared in the English "Hue and Cry."
