ALLAN. -- August 20, 1849, Andrew Allan, Second Class Master, Leith, was buried at Quebec; late in command of the "Wanderer" of Leith.
COLE. -- June 18, 1849, at Quebec, on board the "Thetis," of Limerick, William Clarke Cole, Second Class Master, London.
GIFFNEY. -- August, 1849, drowned in West Port Bay, Ireland, by upsetting of a boat, John Ruxton Giffney, Master of the First Class Extra, Liverpool.
HARDING. -- January 28, 1849, at Colombo, on board the "Cornwall" George Seymour Harding, Second Class Master, London.
JEFFERY. -- September 27, 1849, George Scott Jeffery, First Class Master, London, was buried at St. Helena; late in command of the "Benjamin Buck Greene," of London.
JOHNSON. -- March 23, 1849, when within 10 days' sail of Port Philip, Martin Kemble Johnson, First Class Master, London, was precipitated from the poop of the "Mary Shepherd" into the sea, and was drowned.
MACAULEY. -- June 17, 1849, at sea, on board the "Menzies," Kenneth Macauley, First Class Master, Liverpool.
MILLWARD. -- March, 1849, George Millward, Second Class Master, S. Shields, whilst in command of the "Sarah," was wrecked off the Needles and was drowned.
RALPH. -- September 24, 1849, of cholera, on board the Dreadnought, John Ralph, Second Class Mate, London; late apprentice in the "Eclipse," of the same port.
RICHARDSON. -- November, 1849, Philip Richardson, Second Class Master, London; late in command of the "Elphinston."
SCOTT. -- October 26, 1849, at Madras, Joseph Pressey Scott, Third Class Master, London, late in command of the "Duke of Argyle."
TABER. -- November, 1849, at sea, on board the "Digby," William Bradford Taber, Second Class Master, Liverpool.
